10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers

Dryers are major home appliances that are meant for drying the just-washed clothes. There are many types of dryers and you need to choose the one that will be the best fit for you according to your personal demands. Sticking right to the point, there are clothing types that you should not just “throw” into the dryers because of the simple reason that they won’t be able to resist the heat which will, in its turn, result in the quick shrinking of your clothes.dryers
Dryers are always a good idea. You can’t always have good weather and obviously, things will get worse in winter. Here is when dryers come to the fore. They will guarantee fast drying of the wet clothes. However, owning a dryer does not necessarily imply that you will be able to use it in the effective way.
The last statement has a double meaning. By “effective” we not only mean the proper maintenance of your dryer, but the right choice of the types of clothes you should put into your dryer as well, in order to avoid clothes shrinking.

In any case, dryers always come with restrictions to certain clothing types. Find the list of those “restrictions” below.
Never Put In Dryers

H3 Heading

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #1 – Chiffon

Due to its loose weave construction, chiffon may easily be shrunk. Don’t corrupt your chiffon clothing by putting it into the dryer.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #2 – Rayon

Rayon is another “fickle” type of fabric we don’t advise you to machine dry. Air drying would be the best choice in case of rayon. However, if you have no way out but machine drying, then be careful and watchful.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #3 – Silk

This delicate and elegant fabric is surely not meant for dryers. It might even have specific ways of washing. If you want your silk clothing keep its initial quality, then simply be patient enough to air dry them.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #4 – Wool

Woolen clothing, mostly sweaters are, too, very fragile and might become “shabby and miserable” if you put them in the dryer.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #5 – Lace

Being one of the most beautiful fabric types, lace requires much attention and care. Though you can still machine dry your lace clothing items, but they might get damaged over time. So keep the balance!

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #6 – Bathing Suits

Bathing suits are also non-resistant to the dryers’ high heating. Just keep them off your dryer in order to avoid further corruption.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #7 – Tights

Tights are made of delicate mesh material so obviously they won’t stand the heat.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #8 – Rugs with Rubber Backs

The rubber material might even cause fire in your dryer. Don’t put them into the dryer no matter how compact they are.

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #9 – Velvet

Here is another delicate fabric. Don’t put your velvet clothes into the dryer so as to keep their softness and “nice looks.”

10 Things You Should Never Put in Dryers #10 – Running Shoes

The dryer will quickly shrink the rubber of your running shoes. Keep them away from the heat of drying machines.
If you are not sure whether to put a certain clothing type in the dryer or not, simply read the clothing label and never machine dry anything that is “prohibited” by the label instructions. Get the best out of dryers!
